At 6:30 this morning the stars were shining brightly indicating a clear sky -oh joy!! At 8:00 am when we were about to leave, the skies were clouded over and it was drizzling. The rain came and went all day.
This afternoon we had a choice between following the road or following the natural scenic path. Of course we chose the latter. As we walked along through the mud, with flies buzzing around our heads, behind our glasses, into our noses, ears, and mouths, we questioned our choice of routes. Just as the frustration was getting to us, we looked around at the fields of gold and brown, the flowers growing along the path, and the trees were glistening after the rain. The birds were singing, and the water was flowing gently along. Then came the crash of thunder and the heavens opened as though a faucet had opened full blast. If we weren't wet before we were totally drenched after that deluge.
Now we are happily sitting outside a lovely albergue enjoying the sun. The prediction is for two more days of rain so the sun is all the more enjoyable.

ReplyDeleteLooking great ladies!! I don't like the look of those muddy footprints. Too bad we couldn't send you some of the weather we are having here. Did you manage to get your stuff dried?
ReplyDeleteI guess the wet weather emphasizes the intent of the saying 'life isn't about waiting for the storm to past but to learn to dance in the rain."
