Our Last Long Day?

We had a relatively long day today, going 27km. We hadn't planned to go that far but when we got to Portomarin, our planned stop, we felt relatively fresh and decided to go 8 km further. We arrived in the small village of Gonzar a little bit wilted but we are quickly reviving after our shower.

We have had a fine mist or drizzle on and off all day so we were constantly putting on and taking off jackets and rain capes. The air was warm and it felt quite muggy.

We have been passing many farms in this section of our walk. Beef cattle are the predominate livestock. We have been told that the reason for this is that the European Union subsidizes the farmers for raising beef cattle. Today however, we actually saw some dairy cows.

We passed the marker today that indicated we only have 100 km left to go. Four more days and we should be in Santiago.
