Easy Day to Cacabelos

We walked into Ponferrada early this morning, choosing the approach that goes through quiet neighbourhoods as opposed to the main road. It is a lovely town but other than using the bank machine, checking out the pharmacy, and buying a new camera case we just walked through. We did walk past the Templar Castle which was impressive.

Between Ponferrada and our albergue we saw many people in the vineyards harvesting grapes. There was also a lovely woman who graciously allowed her picture to be taken while harvesting her vegetables.

We are now staying in a municipal albergue with rooms for two that are the size of closets. It is a cozy set up.

Showers and laundry duties are complete so we are having a relaxing afternoon and will shortly walk back into town (yes, I said walk) for dinner.
