Last night we stayed in the smallest albergue we have come across. It was the only building on an isolated site and it had room for twelve but we ended up with sixteen as some weary pilgrims came in later. There was no electricity so no WIFI either. There was a lovely huge dining table and the meal that was prepared for us was delicious.
Today we started out in the rain and it continued to rain steadily all day. By the time we arrived at our albergue we were soaked through to the skin, even with our gortex jackets and boots. There were also several areas on the trail that were thick with mud. It caked onto our boots and added unwelcome weight. Despite the rain and mud we made good mileage and are now dry and happy.
Here's hoping for a sunnier day tomorrow.
