Down from the Clouds

This morning we walked through the clouds as we descended from O'Cebreiro. It was cool but the rain held off. We did have a new challenge. We had to learn how to  sidestep the multitude of cow patties as we walked. We also met a lovely herd of cows in one of the villages we passed through. The farmer and his dogs seemed to have some difficulty directing them to the proper trail but we enjoyed watching the whole  procedure.

As we arrived in Triacastela, we were greeted by the remains of a stately old grandfather tree. There was a sign attached to it stating that it was 800 years old. The sign was in Spanish and I couldn't quite understand clearly what it said so the significance of the tree, other than its age, will remain a mystery.

We are now in a quaint albergue that has just recently opened. It is not well known yet so we are the only peregrinos staying here. It is located in lovely surroundings but they still have a bit of renovating to do to make it cozy. As a result we are currently bundled in all our clothes with blankets on top to keep us warm. The couple who own the albergue are very nice and have invited us up to their cozy warm quarters for dinner.
